PHOENIX — A woman was rescued off Camelback Mountain on Saturday afternoon after injuring her ankle while hiking with friends, according to the Phoenix Fire Department.
Around 12:15 p.m., firefighters received a call reporting that a woman had sustained an ankle injury while hiking. Crews located her on the trail and assessed her condition before requesting aerial support.
A Firebird 10 helicopter arrived at the scene and safely hoisted the woman off the trail.
She was transported to a nearby base landing zone in stable condition, officials said. Phoenix firefighters continued to evaluate her condition after the rescue.
