Police say impairment was not a factor in the collision near 75th Avenue and Encanto Boulevard.

A 68-year-old woman has died following a collision involving her motorized wheelchair and a vehicle in west Phoenix, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

Officers responded around 10:10 p.m. Thursday to reports of a crash near 75th Avenue and Encanto Boulevard. When they arrived, they found Tracie L. Gordon suffering from critical injuries in the roadway.

Investigators with the department’s Vehicular Crimes Unit determined that Gordon had been traveling eastbound in her motorized wheelchair and was attempting to cross the street against the traffic signal at the time of the crash.
