Phoenix police are searching for a suspect after a woman was shot and killed Sunday afternoon at an apartment complex near 43rd Avenue and Thomas Road, authorities said.
Officers responded to the scene around 4:45 p.m. and found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Phoenix Fire Department crews transported her to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Police closed off the complex for several hours as they searched the area, eventually clearing it around 7:30 p.m.Investigators said the suspect remains at large, and detectives are following up on leads at multiple locations.
The victim’s identity has not yet been released, and no details have been provided about what led to the shooting.
