SURPRISE, Ariz. — A woman has been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man found in a church parking lot in Surprise early Tuesday morning.
Police discovered the body of 28-year-old Tyrone Lee Wetzler around 6 a.m. near 113th Avenue and Bell Road, according to the Surprise Police Department. Wetzler had suffered multiple stab wounds.
Investigators determined that Wetzler and two others, including 32-year-old Kahpri Wells, had permission to stay on the property of a Unitarian Universalist church nearby.
During questioning, Wells allegedly admitted to stabbing Wetzler during an altercation the night before and then leaving the scene.
She was booked into jail on charges of first-degree murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
