(Phoenix, AZ) — Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell announced the indictment of Xavier Padilla (DOB 12/2007) and Gabriel Garcia (DOB 01/2005) in connection with a shooting incident that took place at Arizona Mills Mall in September 2024. Both defendants now face several charges, including four counts of aggravated assault, two counts of endangerment, and one count each of disorderly conduct and unlawful discharge of a firearm.
Padilla, a juvenile being charged as an adult, faces an additional count of possession of a firearm by a minor.
Their trial is tentatively scheduled for March 2025.
