Two Teens Arrested After Alleged Scottsdale Home Invasion Disguised as Delivery

Police say the suspects posed as delivery workers before forcing entry into a home and confronting residents; quick officer response ended the standoff without injuries.

Two teenagers are facing multiple felony charges after an alleged home invasion and attempted robbery in a Scottsdale neighborhood on Sunday morning, according to police.

Shortly before 11 a.m., Scottsdale officers were dispatched to a residence near Windrose Drive and 98th Street following reports of a break-in. When officers arrived, they saw a woman screaming inside and one of the suspects struggling with an adult male, authorities said.

Police forced their way into the home as the suspects fled through the back door and sped off in a getaway vehicle. The pursuit ended nearby at a strip mall when the suspects reached a dead-end. Officers took both juveniles into custody without any injuries reported.

Investigators later determined that the pair had pretended to be delivery service workers to gain access to the home. Once the door opened, the suspects allegedly forced their way inside, restraining two residents while a third victim hid elsewhere. Evidence linking the suspects to the crime was found both in the house and inside their vehicle, police said.

The teens now face several charges, including aggravated assault, kidnapping, second-degree burglary, criminal impersonation, disorderly conduct, and felony flight.

Police officials said the officers’ quick coordination and response helped prevent the situation from escalating further. Authorities also noted that there are no remaining suspects and no ongoing threat to the community as the investigation continues.
