Two people suffered serious injuries Saturday morning following a crash involving a dune buggy-style go-kart in Peoria, according to local authorities.
Officers with the Peoria Police Department responded to the scene near 107th Avenue and Union Hills Drive at approximately 10:10 a.m. after receiving reports of a serious collision.
Emergency crews from the Sun City Fire and Medical Department treated the two occupants before transporting them to a nearby hospital for further care. Police initially described their injuries as serious.
Authorities later reported that both patients were alert and awake following the crash, offering a positive update on their condition.
