Mesa police are investigating a late-night shooting that left one young man dead and two others injured on Tuesday. The violence erupted near Brown Road and 40th Street around 10 p.m., when multiple 911 calls reported gunfire in the area.
When officers arrived, they found two men and a woman suffering from gunshot wounds. All three victims were rushed to a nearby hospital. Authorities later confirmed that 19-year-old Skylar Vance succumbed to his injuries, while the other two victims remain in stable condition.
Following an overnight investigation, detectives arrested two juvenile suspects believed to be connected to the shooting. Their names have not been released due to their ages. According to the Mesa Police Department, there are no remaining suspects and no ongoing threat to the community.
Police have not yet disclosed details about what led up to the shooting or how the suspects were identified. The investigation is ongoing.
