A grim discovery in Glendale on Sunday has launched a police investigation after two bodies were found inside a parked vehicle, authorities confirmed.
According to the Glendale Police Department, the discovery was made near 51st and Peoria avenues after relatives of a man missing since Friday used a phone-tracking app to locate his last known position. When they arrived, they found the vehicle and called police, who confirmed the presence of two deceased individuals inside.
Investigators said both victims are believed to be adult males, though their identities, ages, and exact relationship to one another remain unclear due to what police described as “varying stages of decomposition.” One of the men is believed to be an acquaintance of the missing man.
Police have not yet determined how the men died but noted that gunfire does not appear to be involved. The Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct autopsies to determine the cause and manner of death.
Authorities have not released any additional information as the investigation continues.
