Two Arrested in Scottsdale Drug Sales Investigation

Police seize narcotics, firearms, and cash in downtown operation

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — A monthslong investigation into drug sales in downtown Scottsdale led to the arrest of two men on Wednesday, according to the Scottsdale Police Department.

The suspects, identified as Matsemala Zuzu Moloi, 31, and Luke Asher McConnell, 26, were taken into custody after authorities linked them to ongoing narcotics activity in the city’s entertainment district.

During the operation, police confiscated approximately $34,000 worth of drugs, including cocaine, ketamine, meth pills, MDMA, Xanax, psilocybin, and “Tusi,” a synthetic mixture that has been growing in popularity in party settings.

Alongside the drugs, investigators also seized three illegally owned firearms and more than $45,000 in cash, which officers believe to be proceeds from the drug sales.

Both Moloi and McConnell now face multiple drug trafficking and weapons charges as the case moves forward. Authorities have not released further details, but officials say the arrests are part of ongoing efforts to curb illegal drug activity in the Scottsdale area.

Police noted that the operation highlights the department’s continued focus on public safety in high-traffic areas, particularly downtown, where nightlife and entertainment draw large crowds.

The investigation remains active, and additional updates are expected as prosecutors review the evidence.
