Traffic Stop in West Valley Uncovers 8,000 Fentanyl Pills

Buckeye Police arrest four occupants after discovering drugs during routine traffic stop

PHOENIX — A routine traffic stop in the West Valley led to the discovery of thousands of fentanyl pills, the Buckeye Police Department reported.

An officer pulled over an SUV near Verrado Way and Yuma Road on Saturday after observing multiple traffic violations. Upon investigation, police determined the driver had a suspended license and several passengers had outstanding warrants.

During a subsequent search of the vehicle, officers uncovered 8,000 fentanyl pills hidden inside.

All four occupants of the SUV were arrested and are facing charges related to the drugs and other offenses, according to authorities.

This discovery is part of an ongoing effort to address fentanyl distribution and drug trafficking in Arizona.
