Toddler Dies From Fentanyl Overdose In Apache Junction

A police investigation is underway after a 3 year old boy overdoses.

Emergency medical personnel were called to a home in the area of Tomahawk Road and Broadway Avenue in Apache Junction on Sunday evening, where police say they found the toddler in distress after ingesting at least one fentanyl pill. He was taken to the hospital.

Apache Junction police say the boy was treated with Narcan and had to be airlifted to another hospital. The child was put on life support but later died.


The boy’s death is an ongoing criminal investigation, no arrests have been made yet.
