The suspects face first-degree murder charges in the killing of 32-year-old Eric Gutierrez last weekend, police say.

Phoenix police have arrested three men accused of fatally shooting a man near Interstate 17 and Buckeye Road last weekend, authorities announced Friday.

Investigators say the men are suspected in the killing of 32-year-old Eric Gutierrez, who was found with a gunshot wound around 3:30 p.m. Sunday. Phoenix Fire Department crews pronounced him dead at the scene.

Police have not released further details about how the suspects were identified or apprehended.

The arrests come after several recent violent incidents in the area, prompting renewed calls from community leaders for expanded neighborhood policing and violence prevention efforts.

The investigation remains ongoing, and anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact the Phoenix Police Department or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
