PHOENIX — Authorities have arrested three men in connection to the fatal stabbing of a food truck vendor that occurred during a fight outside a west Phoenix business in February 2024.
On the night of February 17, around 11:30 p.m., police responded to reports of a stabbing near 35th Avenue and Van Buren Street. Officers found 41-year-old Heriberto Acosta with multiple stab wounds. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died.
According to investigators, Acosta was closing his food truck for the night when a vehicle pulled into the parking lot carrying several men. A fight broke out between the food truck workers and the group from the vehicle. During the altercation, one of the men stabbed Acosta multiple times before fleeing the scene with the others.
On Monday, Phoenix police announced the arrests of three suspects in connection with the case: 33-year-old Cameron Patterson, 36-year-old Cyrus Reed, and 32-year-old Montel Reed.
The investigation is still ongoing.
