Three Arizona Universities Prepare For March Madness

It’s time to dance! Congratulations to three Arizona Universities who are headed to the NCAA March Madness tournament.

Arizona State, Grand Canyon University and the University of Arizona will soon be headed to the NCAA Men’s Basketball March Madness tournament. It will be the first time three Arizona schools have made it since 1995.

The GCU Lopes and UA Wildcats had already secured their spot in the tournament after emerging as champions in their conferences. However, the Sun Devils and Bobby Hurley fervently waited for their name to be called, and they were rewarded with an invite!

ASU
The Sun Devils have been slotted as the second to last team in the field. They will return to the “First Four” in Dayton, Ohio, as the 11th seed. They will play against fellow 11-seed Nevada on Wednesday. If the Devils win that game they move on to play six-seed TCU on Friday in Denver.

GCU
The Lopes will start their tournament in Denver as the 14th seed in the West Region and will take on third seed Gonzaga on Friday. This will mark the Lopes second NCAA appearance under Coach Drew.

UA
The Wildcats have been placed as a two-seed in the South region after defeating UCLA on Saturday night to take the PAC-12 title. The Wildcats are set to play 15th seed Princeton in Sacramento on Thursday. If they come out with the victory, the Cats will play either Utah State or Missouri.

Good luck to all the Arizona teams in March Madness!
