A 38-year-old man was killed and another man critically injured in what Tempe police say was an attempted murder-suicide Friday afternoon.
The shooting happened at the Camden Apartments, located near Curry and Scottsdale roads. Responding officers found Gustavo Gonzalez, 38, suffering from gunshot wounds inside one of the units. He was rushed to a hospital, where he later died.
The suspected gunman, identified as Blaine Blystone, 39, was also found inside the apartment with what police believe to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was transported to the hospital and remains in critical but stable condition.
Police have not released details about the relationship between the two men or what may have led up to the shooting. The investigation is ongoing.
