PHOENIX — A Tempe man was taken into custody on Tuesday after police discovered a dead body in a freezer in his backyard, according to the Tempe Police Department. The 51-year-old suspect, identified as Joseph Hill Jr., was arrested following a tip that led officers to investigate the property.
After initially being denied access to the freezer, Tempe detectives obtained a search warrant. Hill then informed authorities that the body was his father’s, who had reportedly died over four years ago. However, as of Saturday, police have not confirmed the identity of the remains.
Hill is currently facing charges of concealment of a body and failure to report a death. Tempe Police stated that the investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be considered.
