Symphony of Light Show To Return To Phoenix, Debut In Tempe

After a successful debut of the “Illumination: Symphony of Light” last year, the drive-thru holiday light show will return this holiday season.

The show will return to north Phoenix where it debuted last year, along with the unveiling of a second location for this year in East Valley.

Starting on Wednesday and running daily until Jan. 5, the Phoenix show will be located in the same place as last year, at Interstate 17 and Jomax Road.

The East Valley show will be located at Tempe Diablo Stadium and will take place daily from Friday until Dec. 31.

Both locations will be open from 6-10 p.m. on weekdays and 6-11 p.m. on weekends and holidays.

The Phoenix and Tempe locations will also each feature 1.7 million lights. The show consists of a light show that is synchronized to holiday music that plays over each visitor’s car radio. The attraction will take approximately 25 minutes for each car to complete.

Exclusive to the Phoenix location is the Holiday Boulevard Marketplace, which includes visits with Santa, food, interactive activities, vendors and arts and crafts.

Light show tickets are not required to visit the Holiday Boulevard Marketplace.

Santa’s Portal will be exclusive to the Tempe location, which is the largest drive-thru light tunnel in the U.S.

Tickets for the “Illumination: Symphony of Light” cost $29 per vehicle and $59 per bus or limo when purchased online. Drive-up purchased will cost $35 per vehicle and $65 per bus or limo.

To reduce wait times and ensure admittance to the show, event organizers suggest visitors purchase tickets online.

Drive-up customers are not guaranteed access with time slots being sold in 30-minute increments.

In 2017, approximately 76,000 vehicles visited the Phoenix display.
