Authorities have arrested a 31-year-old man in connection with the deaths of two teenagers whose bodies were found earlier this year near State Route 87.
The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday that Thomas Brown was taken into custody on homicide charges tied to the May killings.
Deputies responded to a call on May 27 and discovered the victims, later identified as 18-year-old Pandora Kjolsrud and 17-year-old Evan Clark, at a campsite near Mount Ord in the Tonto National Forest. The site, located about halfway between Mesa and Payson, is a popular recreation area. Both teens had been fatally shot.
Few details have been released about Brown’s alleged connection to the case. Investigators have not disclosed a possible motive or whether the victims and suspect knew each other.
The investigation remains ongoing.
