TEMPE — A man is dead and another has been arrested following a road rage shooting Tuesday afternoon in Tempe, according to local authorities.
Tempe police said 29-year-old Steven Bevan was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after being shot in a confrontation near Priest and Warner roads around 12:30 p.m. Bevan later died from his injuries.
The suspected shooter, identified as 46-year-old Dustin Jackson, remained at the scene and was taken into custody. He has since been booked on multiple charges, including first-degree murder.
Authorities noted that young children were present in both vehicles during the altercation but were unharmed. There are no other suspects or threats to the public at this time.
The shooting led to a temporary closure of Warner Road between Priest and Commerce drives as investigators processed the scene.
