Support Arizonans In Need And Qualify For A Charitable Tax Credit

Did you know 80 percent of seniors in America are food insecure? Food pantries and food banks are life-changing, life-saving organizations for the millions of people who face hunger every day. With a long history of helping Arizonans, FSL feeds 1,030 members of our community every day. Through food pantries, meal deliveries, transportation support, adult day care, and many other home- and community-based services, they are helping Arizonans of all ages enhance their independence.

“Many of our senior clients are on fixed incomes and don’t have enough money left to purchase groceries each month,” said Alyssa Weist, community manager at Vianney Villas in Avondale, Arizona. “Seventy percent of our clients don’t have transportation or a family member to take them to a food bank or grocery store. Providing assistance to them each week relieves the stress and burden of them worrying how they are going to find their next meal.”

Through your charitable donations, you can support FSL’s mission to improve the quality of life for adults and their caregivers. You still have time to take advantage of the dollar-for-dollar credit if you make a charitable donation to a qualifying organization before April 15.

“It’s refreshing when someone comes in and delivers the meal and takes time to have a conversation with you,” says Christine, a 98-year old who receives 4 days of meals each week from FSL. “It’s a blessing because it’s also someone to check on you.”

The Arizona Charitable Tax Credit allows taxpayers to claim a dollar for dollar tax credit for contributions made to Qualifying Charitable Organizations. However, less than 10% of Arizona tax filers claimed the Arizona Charitable Tax Credit in 2017. You do not need to itemize your taxes in order to take advantage of this tax credit! The limits for the credit are $400/year for single or married, filing separately and $800/year for married filing jointly. Our Qualified Charitable Organization (QCO) Code: 20199.

Your donations can make a difference for the 1.2 million seniors (65 and older) experiencing food insecurity. Show your support today!
