Sprouts Farmers Market Planning First Fountain Hills Store

23,000-square-foot location would fill long-standing request for specialty grocer in Four Peaks Plaza

PHOENIX — Sprouts Farmers Market is preparing to open its first store in Fountain Hills, marking a major expansion for the Phoenix-based grocery chain.

A site plan has been submitted for a 23,024-square-foot store at Four Peaks Plaza, located on Shea Boulevard near State Route 87. The move comes after years of local demand for a specialty grocery option in the area.

“The Fountain Hills residents have been asking for a specialty grocery store since I started with the town over three years ago,” said Amanda Jacobs, Fountain Hills’ economic development director, in a statement Wednesday.

Construction is expected to begin by late 2025 or early 2026, pending final approvals. The Fountain Hills Town Council previously approved zoning changes in January 2024 to support the project.

The announcement comes during a busy week for Sprouts. On Monday, the company broke ground on its new headquarters campus in Phoenix, signaling continued investment and growth in its home state.
