Spend the Day Salt River Tubing!

Looking for a fun way to cool down this summer but still have fun in the sun? Salt River Tubing is the answer! We have all the information you need to prepare for your day on the river.

Where: 9200 North Bush Highway, Mesa, AZ 85215

When: Salt River Tubing is open seven days a week from 9:00am to 6:30pm. The latest tube rental is 2:30pm so make sure to arrive early!

Cost: Tub rentals are $17 a person and include the shuttle bus service and parking at the SRTR terminal building. For every five tubes you rent, you will need one valid driver’s license. You are free to bring your own floating device and can use the shuttle service for the discounted rate of $14 per person. They also have discounted group rates of $15 per person Monday-Friday for groups of 30 or more. Call ahead to schedule your reservation if you plan to take advantage of this deal! They accept credit cards and cash.

What to bring: Lot’s of sunscreen and water is a must for your float down the river. Coolers are popular items to fill with your favorite drinks and some snacks for the ride. Make sure you don’t bring any glass bottles, as they will check your cooler before you load the bus. Lastly, make sure to bring a bag for all your trash to help keep the river clean.

Float Trips: There are three main float trips and which one you are able to take depends on the water flow conditions, weather, and time you arrive at the terminal. From Point 1 to Point 2, you have approximately 2 hours of float time. From Point 2 to Point 4 is approximately a 3 hour float trip and from Point 1 to Point 4 is about a 5 hour trip! Once you arrive to the terminal, the staff will advise you on which trips are open and there are large signs on the river that tell you which exit point you’re at and where to get off!

Tips: We suggest bringing an old bed sheet or towel to wrap around your tube to help keep you cool and protect your skin from the hot, black rubber. If you plan on drinking, make sure you have a designated driver or plan on taking a ride sharing service or a cab. Lastly, it’s helpful to wear some sort of sandals or shoes that have a backing or lace up such as Crocs or water shoes. Getting on and off the river can be difficult with the tide and the bottom on the river is covered in rocks.
