A man on Southwest flight 3814 faces federal charges after allegedly masturbating at least four times and exposing himself to passengers during the flight.
Antonio Sherrodd McGarity is accused of masturbating four times in his seat next to a female passenger on the flight from Seattle to Phoenix on April 2, 2022.
The criminal complaint claims McGarity was seated in seat 11F and the female witness was seated in seat 11E. The report states that shortly after take-off, McGarity exposed [himself] by pulling down his pants and shorts and began masturbating.
McGarity fell asleep and the horrified female witness took photos of the man with his pants down. She then told the flight crew what happened and she was moved to another seat on the flight.
According to reports, when crewmembers received the report of the inappropriate behavior, the captain requested that law enforcement meet the aircraft upon arrival.
Once the plane landed, the woman turned the photos over to Phoenix police. Phoenix police officers interviewed the witness, and she confirmed McGarity masturbated in front of her on four separate occasions, using both his left and right hands.
McGarity admitted to touching himself to FBI Special Agents.
The report states that McGarity told officers he asked the female witness if she minded if he masturbates. According to McGarity, the female witness put her hands in the air and said, ‘It really doesn’t matter.’
The report states that McGarity thought what he was doing was “kind of kinky.”
Southwest Airlines has stated that the passenger was immediately put on their No-Fly List, resulting in a lifetime ban from traveling on Southwest Airlines.
McGarity is facing charges related to lewd, indecent, or obscene acts.
