Southern Arizona Man Attached By Bobcat At His Home

A southern Arizona man is recovering and getting treated for rabies after a bobcat attacked him on Wednesday.

Arizona Game and Fish Department (AZGFD) officials report that just before 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, a Saddlebrooke man was attacked at his home by the bobcat. The man suffered injuries to his right leg and left arm during the attack.

Saddlebrooke is located north of Oro Valley, in southeastern Pinal County.


Exact details of the man’s interaction with the bobcat have not been reported, however  AZGFD officials are saying that rabies is suspected.

Authorities are urging anyone who sees a bobcat in the Saddlebrooke area to call the AZGFD at (623) 236-7201 as soon as possible. Under no circumstances should you not approach it or engage with the animal.
