For the second time in a week, skeletal human remains have been found in the valley.

An investigation is underway by Phoenix police after a hiker found decomposed human remains on Shadow Mountain last weekend.

Early Saturday afternoon, police were called to a desert area near Cave Creek Road and Sweetwater Avenue after a body was found. The remains were located just off of a hiking trail.

The body has not yet been identified and the circumstances of the death are still under investigation by detectives and the Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Office. No further information has bene released.

Human skeletal parts were also found over the weekend in Buckeye. Investigators initially believed they could be that of missing valley man Daniel Robinson.  However police have now determined that not to be the case.
