Phoenix, AZ – Six Arizona schools have been awarded the prestigious 2024 National Blue Ribbon Schools designation, recognizing their commitment to academic excellence and progress in closing achievement gaps. The U.S. Department of Education announced the honorees on Monday, highlighting schools that set the standard for student success.
The Arizona recipients include BASIS Chandler in Chandler, Robert Bracker Elementary School in Nogales, Marc T. Atkinson Middle School in Phoenix, Xavier College Preparatory in Phoenix, Arizona Agribusiness & Equine Center in Prescott, and Shadow Ridge High School in Surprise.
The honored schools represent a mix of public, private, and charter institutions, with three public schools, one private school, and two charter schools making the list.
“The 2024 National Blue Ribbon Schools are raising the bar for our nation’s students,” said U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona. “These schools serve as models of effective teaching and collaboration, inspiring us all as we work toward a brighter future for every child.”
In total, 356 schools across the nation were recognized based on their school culture, programs, instructional practices, leadership, and community involvement.
