PHOENIX — A Seattle woman who attempted to open multiple cabin doors and assaulted a flight attendant during a flight to Phoenix has been sentenced to probation, authorities announced Thursday.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Alison S. Bachus sentenced 24-year-old Aliyah Robyn Stalder to three months of probation. She was also ordered to pay an $8,000 restitution fee, a $5,000 civil fine, and is prohibited from flying commercially without prior approval.
Incident on Board
The incident occurred in February 2023 during a commercial flight from Washington state to Arizona. Prosecutors say Stalder attempted to open several cabin doors mid-flight, prompting an urgent response from flight crew members and passengers. During the struggle to restrain her, she assaulted a flight attendant.
In November 2024, she pleaded guilty to one count of assault by striking, beating, or wounding on an aircraft.
The FBI and the Phoenix Police Department conducted the investigation. Authorities did not specify any further restrictions related to her sentencing.
