Scottsdale Woman Hospitalized After Daughter Allegedly Stabs Her During Argument

Police say a family dispute at a Scottsdale apartment turned violent Monday morning, leaving a mother critically injured and her daughter in custody.

A Scottsdale mother is in critical condition after police say her adult daughter stabbed her during a heated argument late Monday morning.

According to the Scottsdale Police Department, officers responded around 11:30 a.m. to reports of a domestic dispute at an apartment complex near 68th Street and McDowell Road. When they arrived, they found the mother suffering from multiple stab wounds. She was rushed to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The daughter, whose name has not been released, was also hurt in the altercation but declined medical treatment at the scene, police said. Investigators believe the incident began as a verbal argument that quickly escalated into violence.

Authorities emphasized that there is no ongoing threat to the public. Detectives are continuing to investigate what led up to the stabbing and have not yet announced any charges.

The case adds to a recent string of domestic violence incidents reported across the Valley. Last month, police in Phoenix arrested a woman accused of shooting a 4-year-old boy, and Scottsdale officers detained two juveniles in a separate home invasion case.

More updates will be released as the investigation continues.
