Scottsdale Ranks as Fourth-Best City to Retire In

Expert analysts at WalletHub, a service dedicated to helping people manage their money well, have discovered that the modern method of retirement consists of relocating to areas where one’s dollar can go a long way while still maintaining a comfortable lifestyle.

WalletHub conducted a study to determine the best and worst cities to retire in, comparing 150 cities in categories such as affordability, quality of life, health care and availability of recreational activities. Cracking the top-five list was Arizona’s very own Scottsdale.


Coming it at number four, below Orlando, Tampa and Miami, Scottsdale actually has the highest amount of residents aged 65 and older at 21.9%. Other high scoring areas for Scottsdale include ‘Quality of Life,’ ‘Health Care’ and ‘Mild Weather.’

It isn’t hard to see why Scottsdale came in so high on the list: with its resort-like atmosphere and many luxurious amenities, it is an ideal destination for those looking to retire. It also has a great variety of activities to choose from. Between the hiking, golf and spas, there is truly something for everyone.
