Scottsdale Monopoly Board Game Released

On Tuesday, Hasbro and Top Trumps USA released a new edition of Monopoly that Arizona can be proud of. The entire board game is designed around Scottsdale.

The Scottsdale Edition trades the well-known board game’s famous Boardwalk and Park Place with some of Scottsdale’s popular historic landmarks and famous businesses. In keeping with the boardgames theme, the Scottsdale city edition has customized Community Chest and Chance playing cards pays tribute to the “The West’s Most Western Town.

“We consider the Scottsdale edition of MONOPOLY to be one of our best city editions of the game yet,” said Katie Hubbard of Top Trumps USA. “Not only did we incorporate feedback from the public on what essential businesses and landmarks should be included, but we have created stunning ‘only-in-Scottsdale’ visuals to accompany the board.”

The community, local businesses and nonprofits provided their input on what exact locations should be placed on the board spaces.

The Scottsdale edition board game is available on Amazon and can be purchased in stores, including Barnes & Noble Scottsdale, Kactus Jock, Scottsdale Southwest, Southwestern Reflections and The Poisoned Pen. The game retails for $44.95-$49.95.

Parker Brothers released their first version of the original Monopoly game in the 1930s. The game maker has released other local versions of the game including Napa Valley,  The Hamptons, Lake Tahoe, and Palm Springs.
