Scottsdale Invites Residents to Serve on City Boards and Commissions

13 Openings Available Across Seven Boards and Commissions

Scottsdale is offering a unique opportunity for residents to help shape the city’s future by serving on one of several boards and commissions. With 13 openings spread across seven different boards, those interested must complete an online application by Friday, Nov. 1.

The city encourages civic-minded individuals to apply for the available positions, which include roles on the Environmental Advisory Commission, Loss Trust Fund Board, Veterans Advisory Commission, and more. These boards and commissions play a vital role in influencing policy, providing recommendations, and supporting the continued growth and well-being of the Scottsdale community.

The available positions are as follows:

  • Environmental Advisory Commission (3 openings)
  • Historic Preservation Commission (2 openings)
  • Loss Trust Fund Board (1 opening)
  • McDowell Sonoran Preserve Commission (1 opening)
  • Neighborhood Advisory Commission (1 opening)
  • Paths and Trails Subcommittee (1 opening)
  • Veterans Advisory Commission (4 openings)

Detailed descriptions of each board and commission’s responsibilities are available on the city’s website by searching for “Boards and Commissions” at ScottsdaleAZ.gov.

Applications will remain valid for one year. After reviewing submissions, the Scottsdale City Council will nominate candidates for interviews and make appointments in December. Those selected will be required to follow the city’s Ethics Code and participate in a training session before officially beginning their term.

For residents looking to give back to their community, serving on a board or commission offers a meaningful way to contribute to Scottsdale’s future.
