A new retailer is coming to Arizona and is about to make a big impact in the economy as they look to fill 400 positions.

With much anticipation, Arizona’s first Scheels store will open in the fall.  The sporting goods store is like no other retail experience and  offers an extensive variety of shoes, clothes, gear and several family-friendly attractions.

The impressive 250,000-square-foot retail store is set to open Sept. 30 at Chandler Fashion Center in the former Nordstrom’s department store.

This will be the first Scheels store in Arizona and will include a full size functioning indoor Ferris wheel, mini bowling, a 16,000-gallon saltwater aquarium with over 600 fish,  arcade games, interactive card games and a café that will serve up gourmet sandwiches and soups.

This is not your typical sporting goods store. The retailer offers a wide variety of items from more than 75 specialty shops, including clothing, all types of sports gear, hunting and fishing gear. The retailer carries all the popular name brands and offers an incredible large amount of goods under one roof.

The Chandler store is in the process of hiring more than 400 associates.

Currently they are looking to hiring for the following full-time positions: social media specialists, human resources assistants and freight support. All part-time positions will be posted in the next few months.

Scheels has opened a career center at 1320 S. Spectrum Blvd., southeast of the Loop 101 Price Freeway/Loop 202 Santan Freeway interchange. Those interested can visit the site to learn more.

Scheels originated out of North Dakota and now has more than 30 stores nationwide.
