Ringo Starr Schedules Concert In Phoenix

Beatles alumni Ringo Starr recently announced that his 30th Anniversary All Starr Band Tour will be coming through Arizona in August. The band, which began touring in 1989, will feature Steve Lukather, Colin Hay, Gregg Rolie, Warren Ham, Gregg Bissonette and Hamish Stuart. The first US show is scheduled at Harrah’s Resort Southern California on March 21 before the band travels to Japan.

Starr’s began his career with The Beatles in the 1960s and has since enjoyed a successful solo career as a singer, songwriter, drummer, collaborator, and producer releasing 18 solo studio albums to date. “When I was 13, I only wanted to be a drummer. My dream has always been, and still is, to play great music with great musicians – and I’ve been blessed to have so many incredible ones in my All Starr Bands,” the 78-year-old said on his website.

If history is any indicator, then fans can expect to hear a selection of Beatles classics like “With a Little Help from My Friends” and “Yellow Submarine” along with a variety of other songs from his solo career. His former colleague Paul McCartney will be playing at the Talking Stick Resort Arena on June 26.

Tickets for the August 26th show at the Celebrity Theatre start at $70 plus fees and go up to $375 plus fees for front row VIP packages. They go on sale Feb. 8 at 10 a.m. and can be purchased here.
