Authorities have intensified efforts to locate Nancy Guthrie, the mother of TODAY show co-host Savannah Guthrie, who vanished from her Tucson home in the early hours of February 1. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) announced Thursday that the reward for information leading to her whereabouts has been increased to $100,000.
Investigators released additional details about a potential suspect captured on surveillance footage near Nancy Guthrie’s front door. Through forensic video analysis, the FBI now believes the individual is a man standing between 5 feet 9 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall with an average build. He was seen carrying a black 25-liter Ozark Trail Hiker Pack backpack.
Officials say they have received more than 13,000 tips since the investigation began. Earlier this week, law enforcement detained a man for questioning in Rio Rico, Arizona, but later released him after an extensive search of the area produced no sign of Guthrie.
A candlelight vigil was held Wednesday evening in Tucson, drawing friends, family, and residents hoping for her safe return. Savannah Guthrie has continued to share updates and appeals for information on social media, urging anyone with knowledge about her mother’s disappearance to contact authorities.
The case remains active, with federal and local agencies working together to follow new leads.
