Rescue Crew Recovers Missing Swimmer at Lake Pleasant

Rescue crews recovered the body of a swimmer who went missing at Lake Pleasant Sunday, marking it the fourth week in a row that a deadly accident has occurred at the lake.

Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies were called to Lake Pleasant late Sunday afternoon to help search for the body of a swimmer who went missing at Lake Pleasant. Authorities received a call around 5 p.m. stating there a possible drowning at Sunset Ridge on the south side of Lake Pleasant.

Investigators believe that the 18-year-old man was swimming in the lake, went under the water and did not resurface. Later in the evening, search team divers recovered his body. The name of the victim has not been released and officials have not provided any additional details.


This drowning is the fourth week of deadly accidents in the water at Lake Pleasant.
