The Monday Night Wild Card playoff game between the Los Angeles Rams and the Minnesota Vikings has been relocated to State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, due to the deadly wildfires in Los Angeles.
Originally scheduled for January 13 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, the game was moved as part of the NFL’s contingency plan.
“In the interest of public safety, the decision was made in consultation with public officials, the participating clubs, and the NFLPA,” the league said in a statement.
Ticket Details
Tickets will be available for purchase starting Friday at 10 a.m. Pacific Time (11 a.m. Arizona time) for Rams Season Ticket Members via Seatgeek.com. General public sales will begin at Noon Pacific Time (1 p.m. Arizona time).
Further ticketing details have not yet been released.
Wildfire Impact
The decision to relocate the game comes amid ongoing wildfires in Southern California, which have claimed at least 10 lives and forced the evacuation of nearly 180,000 residents as of Thursday.
The NFL stated earlier this week that it was monitoring developments closely and remaining in contact with public officials, both teams, and the NFLPA to ensure the safety of all involved.
Game Logistics
The Rams had secured home-field advantage for the Wild Card game at SoFi Stadium. The relocation to Glendale marks a significant shift but ensures that the game will proceed without endangering public safety in the wildfire-affected area.
This change underscores the gravity of the situation in Southern California and the NFL’s commitment to prioritizing the well-being of players, staff, and fans.
