Prince Charles, Heir To The British Throne, Tests Positive For The Coronavirus

Prince Charles, the heir to the British throne, has tested positive for the coronavirus.

According to a statement from the Prince’s London household, “The Prince of Wales has tested positive for Coronavirus.  He has been displaying mild symptoms but otherwise remains in good health and has been working from home throughout the last few days as usual,” a spokesman from Clarence House said.

The palace added that it was impossible to know how Prince Charles caught the virus, given the “high number of engagements he carried out in his public role during recent weeks.”

It says his wife Camilla has tested negative.

Charles is the first in line to the throne, and would take over as King of England upon the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth.

Latest figures from public health authorities on the spread of Covid-19 in the United Kingdom show there are 8,077 confirmed cases with 422 deaths.
