The White House says President Joe Biden will travel to Arizona next week and make a stop in Phoenix. The President will visit the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company’s (TSMC) plant under construction in Phoenix as the company continues to expand US computer chip production.

“On Tuesday, December 6, the President will travel to Phoenix, Arizona. The President will visit TSMC and discuss how his economic plan is leading to a manufacturing boom, rebuilding supply chains, and creating good-paying jobs in Arizona and across the country,” the White House said in a statement.

The plant is projected to employ 1,600 people, with thousands more jobs being created at suppliers.

TSMC chips is the intellects in Apple iPhones and F-35 fighter jets. TSMC chose Phoenix as their second location in the United States.
