Police Search for Suspect in Central Phoenix Shooting That Killed One Teen, Injured Two Others

Phoenix Authorities Urge Public to Help Locate Suspect in Late-Night Shooting

Phoenix, AZ – Phoenix police are actively searching for the suspect involved in a late-night shooting on Friday that left one teenager dead and two others hospitalized. The incident occurred near 13th and Van Buren streets in central Phoenix.

A police officer was flagged down near Seventh Avenue and Buckeye Road just before midnight by a vehicle containing three teenagers with gunshot wounds. Officers later located the shooting scene about 2.5 miles northeast of that location.

One of the teens, a male, succumbed to his injuries, while the other two were hospitalized and are expected to survive, according to authorities.


Police are urging anyone with information about the shooting to come forward. Tips can be submitted anonymously to Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS (or 480-TESTIGO for Spanish speakers), and rewards may be available for information leading to an arrest.
