Police Investigate North Phoenix Park Homicide Following Discovery of Body

47-year-old man found with signs of suspicious trauma

PHOENIX — Authorities are investigating a suspected homicide after Phoenix Police officers discovered a dead body near a park in north Phoenix early Saturday. Officers were called to the scene around 7 a.m. near 23rd Avenue and Cactus Road, where they located the remains of 47-year-old Nazario Lopez-Felix.

Detectives reported that Lopez-Felix had signs of “suspicious trauma,” prompting an active investigation into the circumstances of his death.
