Phoenix Restuaurants Go Gold for Phoenix Childrens Hospital

In support of the Phoenix Children’s Hospitals ‘Go Gold’ campaign, The Vig and Four Peaks Brewery have joined forces for the September installment of Genuine Concepts Community Handle program.

In 2015 22,000 cancer appointments were made at the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, an increase from 8,900 in 2007. As the rates of pediatric cancer diagnosis rise each year, the Phoenix Children’s Hospital is ramping up its ‘Go Gold’ campaign and asking for support.

Each year 1 out of every 285 children will be diagnosed with cancer across the US with over 300 children being diagnosed at Phoenix Children’s Hospital alone. At the hospital at least 90 patients undergo chemotherapy and various other treatments every day.

The Phoenix Children’s Hospital would like to bring a greater focus to this issue so they can better provide their patients with the services they deserve. Through local community and business partnership the Phoenix Children’s Hospital aims to raise $1 million during the month of September to benefit the expansion of their Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders.

In order to support this great cause Genuine Concepts has brought together The Vig and Four Peaks Brewery in what is the latest chapter in its monthly tradition of community outreach. Dedicated to “Bringing people together over a table, bringing communities together over a cause” Genuine Concepts has a rich history of promoting and hosting charities across the Valley through its Community Handle program.

Paired with a different brewery, each one of The Vig’s 4 locations has participated in this charitable cause at one point or another. Through donations, fundraisers, and events like this, Genuine Concepts and its partners have helped organizations such as the Boys Hope Girls Hope of Arizona, The Arizona Fallen Firefighters Memorial, and Roosevelt Row achieve their goals.

This months iteration sees The Vig and the Tempe based Four Peaks Brewery teamed up to support the ‘Go Gold’ campaign and the Phoenix Children’s Hospital’s pediatric cancer awareness drive. For each pint of Four Peaks 8th Street Ale Purchased $1 will be donated by both The Vig and Four Peaks towards the ‘Go Gold’ cause.
