PHOENIX – The Phoenix Police Department has arrested one of its own dispatchers, Daniel Rojas, on child pornography charges, officials announced on Tuesday. Rojas, 20, was taken into custody on August 30, 2024, and is facing five counts of sexual exploitation of a minor following a months-long investigation.
The investigation began in April when Phoenix Police were alerted to allegations against Rojas. The Scottsdale Police Department further notified Phoenix of their ongoing criminal investigation into Rojas’ activities in July. Rojas is accused of using social media platforms to collect, solicit, and distribute child pornography videos, according to local reports.
Rojas had been placed on administrative leave since May after he was interviewed in connection with the criminal investigation. Following his arrest, he has been officially terminated from his position as a dispatcher with the Phoenix Police Department.
“The Phoenix Police Department takes these allegations seriously and is committed to a thorough and transparent investigative process,” the department said in a statement, ensuring that the case will be handled with full accountability.
The investigation remains ongoing, and no additional information has been made available at this time. Authorities continue to work on the case to ensure justice is served.
Further updates will be provided as the situation develops.
