The City of Phoenix is celebrating its 12th annual Graffiti-Free Phoenix Month this February, spotlighting a long-running community effort to keep neighborhoods clean, safe, and welcoming by tackling graffiti vandalism head-on.
The initiative, led by the Phoenix Neighborhood Services Department (NSD), partners with residents, businesses, and community groups to both remove graffiti and educate the public on prevention. The city’s dedicated “Graffiti Busters” crew works seven days a week, responding to reports and cleaning up vandalism at no cost to property owners. In 2025 alone, crews removed graffiti from more than 46,000 sites citywide.
“Maintaining a clean, vibrant, and welcoming city with respect for public and private property is a core value for Phoenix,” said Kate Gallego. “Vandalism, including graffiti, damages our neighborhoods and imposes real costs on residents and businesses.”
Lucas Mariacher, Deputy Director of NSD’s Neighborhood Preservation Division, added that swift removal is key to discouraging repeat offenses. “Graffiti-Free Phoenix Month is an opportunity to remind everyone that reporting graffiti and staying engaged makes a real difference,” he said.
Residents can help by reporting graffiti through the city’s myPHX311 portal at Phoenix.gov/myPHX311, by calling 602-534-4444, or emailing [email protected]. Those who wish to take a hands-on approach can also request paint and supplies for local cleanup projects.
