Phoenix Family Gathering Turns Deadly: Murder Suspect Arrested Following Triple Stabbing

One Dead, Two Injured as Suspect Detained in Connection with Violent Incident in West Phoenix

Phoenix police arrested a murder suspect following a stabbing at a family gathering that left one person dead and two others injured on Saturday night.

Officers responded to a home near Broadway Road and 75th Avenue around 10 p.m., discovering three victims suffering from apparent stab wounds, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

Among the victims was 29-year-old Jake Carbonell, who was transported to a local hospital in critical condition but later succumbed to his injuries.

An adult man and woman were also hospitalized with serious injuries but were treated and released.

The suspect, identified as 29-year-old Hunter Strawbridge, was apprehended by patrol officers conducting a neighborhood search. Witnesses reported that Strawbridge stabbed the victims before attempting to flee the scene. He was subsequently booked into jail, authorities said.

Detectives revealed that the altercation stemmed from a dispute between Carbonell and Strawbridge during the family gathering.

The investigation remains active, and no further details have been released at this time.
