The Phoenix Convention Center is closing out 2025 on a high note, celebrating a year of steady growth and major economic returns for the downtown core. According to city officials, the venue hosted 70 conventions this year—up from 2024—with an estimated 293,300 delegates passing through its doors.
“We are proud to continue to grow the number of events we host each year,” said Phoenix Convention Center & Venues Director Jerry Harper, praising his team for their work behind the scenes. “Each event offers us the chance to create memorable moments for the thousands of people who visit us.”
The center’s estimated economic impact reached $453.7 million in 2025, a notable achievement in a year without large-scale mega events. Harper noted that the success of the Convention Center extends beyond the building itself, fueling restaurants, hotels, and local businesses across downtown Phoenix.
The Convention Center’s affiliated venues—Symphony Hall and the historic Orpheum Theatre Phoenix—also saw strong attendance this year. Together, the two theatres hosted 244 performances and welcomed more than 162,000 guests, from comedy and ballet to symphonies and classic film screenings.
“Our theatrical venues are the crown jewel of downtown,” Harper said. “There’s truly something for everyone.”
Looking ahead, the Convention Center plans to carry that momentum into 2026, when Phoenix will host major fan events for the NCAA Women’s Final Four in April. Harper expressed optimism about breaking new records next year, adding, “We’re ready to keep Phoenix shining as a top destination for meetings and events.”
