The Phoenix Convention Center is entering 2026 with a multimillion-dollar refresh designed to modernize its spaces and enhance the overall guest experience.
Backed by an investment of approximately $5 million, the downtown Phoenix venue has rolled out a series of upgrades that touch nearly every corner of the facility. Visitors will encounter updated furnishings in prefunction lobby areas and new carpeting across high-traffic zones, including the Lower Level, West Building 200 and 300 levels, and the West Building Arcade. Additional carpet replacements are scheduled for the North Building’s 100 and 200 levels later this spring.
The improvements extend beyond aesthetics. New audiovisual enhancements and LED display walls installed on the Lower Level are expected to expand event production capabilities, offering organizers more dynamic options for conferences, meetings, and large-scale gatherings. Performance areas have also been outfitted with upgraded staging, new banquet and assembly tables, and a new dance floor to accommodate a broader range of event formats.
Accessibility upgrades are part of the investment as well, with a newly installed wheelchair lift aimed at ensuring all guests can fully access the facility.
One of the most visible changes will take shape outside. Exterior uplighting along Third Street, slated for installation in February and March, will allow the building’s façade to glow in customizable colors after dark — a feature that venue leaders say will redefine the convention center’s nighttime presence in downtown Phoenix.
Assistant Director Bob Fingerman said the updates reflect an ongoing commitment to maintaining the convention center’s standing as a premier meetings destination in the Southwest. More information about the venue and upcoming events can be found on the Phoenix Convention Center’s website.
With a blend of technology upgrades, refreshed interiors and a bold new exterior lighting feature, the convention center is positioning itself for a new chapter — one that aims to be as visually striking as it is functional.
