Join the Phoenix Community on September 14th to Honor 9/11 Heroes and Service Members

Phoenix, AZ – Registration is now open for the 2024 Phoenix 9/11 Heroes Run, scheduled for September 14 at 8:00 AM at Kiwanis Park. This annual event brings the community together to honor the heroes of 9/11 and the service members who have served in the wars that followed. It serves as a powerful reminder of the promise made over 20 years ago: to never forget.

Event Details and Registration

Participants are invited to register for the in-person run, with race day registration and packet pick-up beginning at 6:00 AM. For those looking to avoid the morning rush, packets can be collected early on Tuesday, September 10, from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM at The Runners Den, located at 6505 N 16th St, Phoenix, AZ 85016. Please note that dynamic bib assignment will be used during packet pick-up.

The event will start with an opening ceremony at 7:30 AM, followed by the 5K Run/Walk at 8:00 AM and the 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk at 8:15 AM. The day will conclude with a closing ceremony and awards presentation at 9:30 AM.

Parking and Volunteer Information

Parking for participants is available in the business development lots north of Baseline, with additional spaces on South Ash Ave on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants are asked to avoid parking in the neighborhood east of the park or along the SRP canal.

Volunteers are requested to arrive by 6:15 AM on race day and should park in the north lot at the end of South Ash Ave. After parking, volunteers should proceed to the registration check-in table to meet with coordinators, receive their volunteer shirts, and get their assignments.

Health and Safety Reminders

The safety and well-being of all participants and volunteers are top priorities. To ensure a smooth and secure race day, water stations will be available along the course. Participants are encouraged to start hydrating 48 hours before the event and to bring essentials such as water, electrolytes, and oral rehydration salts.
