East meets West with a new pretzel franchise that has opened in the valley. This week, an East coast pretzel concept opened its first Arizona location.
On June 25th, Philly Pretzel Factory, a 1,200-square-foot location in Goodyear opened. The store is located at 650 N. Estrella Parkway. Philly Pretzel Factory is Bensalem, Pennsylvania-based company.
The restaurant’s menu will include variations on the soft pretzel including pretzel cheesesteaks, pretzel dogs, and spicy pretzel sausages.
The location is owned and will be operated by Goodyear residents Nancy Smith and Gary Love. Opening the Philly Pretzel Factory is the first attempt into franchising for the couple. They chose Goodyear because they live in the community. The couple, who own the franchise territory hope to expand into other valley cities. Until then, they plan to grow the catering side of the business.
“We just wanted to start with one, get a good feel for the market, then expand,” they said with possible expansion into Tempe, downtown Phoenix and Scottsdale.
