Phat Scooters Relocating from Tempe to Phoenix

An Arizona-based scooter company is relocating its headquarters and opening a manufacturing facility in Phoenix.

Phat Scooters will move its headquarters from Tempe to Phoenix, where the manufacturing facility will also be located, in September.

The 44,000-square-foot building will be located off Interstate 10 and University Drive near Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport.

“We are excited to be opening our new headquarters within the Phoenix metro area, a place we are so proud to call home and having grown from just a small garage operation to now this large facility as result of our amazing growth and success,” Peter Johnson, CEO of Phat Scooters, said in a press release.

The 60-employee company’s corporate offices and a distribution site will also be located at the facility.

It will also boast three acres of paved and fenced yard to be used as a test track.

Phat Scooters can travel up to 20 mph and can be used for several leisure activities, including golf.

In most states, license and registration are not required to operate the scooters since they are classified as a category 2 E-bike.
